Optimal Performance Limited worked with the Institute of Occupational Medicine to monitor the core body temperature of employees whilst they worked at one of Sellafield’s reprocessing plants.

The aim of the study was to measure whether the current time limits for employees working in the hot environments at the plant whilst wearing fully encapsulated personal protective equipment were within safe thermal thresholds.

The project team remotely monitored the workers core body temperature as a safety measure and analysed the data to provide an evidence base for the standard operating procedures.
